If you reading this edition of The Joe Report over in the UK, then you probably already know there’s just 3 months left until the commencement of the 2nd annual Vintage Action Man Enthusiasts (VAME) Meet. On the other hand, if you live here in the U.S. or elsewhere, you’ve probably never heard about this show…but you can always DREAM, can’t you? According to UK’s VAME Forum (their version of the Trenches Forum)…
“Following the runaway success of the 1st VAME Meet earlier this year, we’re pleased to announce that we have arranged to hold a 2nd VAME meet on the morning of Saturday, June 9th, 2012 in the village of Quorn (near Loughborough) at the Quorn Village Hall.
As before, it is for Vintage Action Man Enthusiasts who want to buy/sell/swap vintage Action Man figures and accessories, show off their treasures and customs, or just have a chat. The date, time and location are chosen to make it easy to combine with a visit to the excellent WW2 weekend held every year at the Great Central steam railway nearby.
Plans are afoot to make this even bigger and better than the 1st VAME Meet and, believe it or not, entry is still free! Further details will follow nearer the time, but for now, make a note of the date in your diaries and calendars and don’t miss out on THE event for Vintage Action Man Enthusiasts in 2012!”
As the popularity of UK’s Action Man (AM) continues to grow here in the U.S. (and elsewhere), so does collector interest in AM shows and events that are scheduled overseas. This show in particular promises to offer a wealth of vintage figures for sale and trade, as well as 1/6th scale dioramas, custom figures and more. Consider yourself VERY lucky if you can manage to attend. GO J– er…that is, GO ACTION MAN!
